Our policy regarding COVID-19

February 4th, 2022

To all our Customers, Partners and Suppliers

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of our company.

The number of people infected with the new coronavirus mutant strain is increasing day by day. The government is concerned that the medical system will be overloaded with patients due to this pandemic.
In response to this situation, the government has expanded the scope of "priority measures to prevent the spread of infection".

Our basic policy is to continue our business activities while preventing the spread of infection. Therefore, we will continue our efforts to ensure safety, prevent the spread of infection, and promote our business activities. In addition to taking the following additional measures, we have requested all employees to re-enforce the measures already in place.

(1) The Tokyo Branch Office will continue to implement the same partial telecommuting and adjustment of work hours that has been implemented in the past.

(2) The Okayama head office and factory will continue business as usual. We have instructed our employees to wash their hands, disinfect common areas daily, and ventilate regularly.

(3) The Tokyo and Okayama workplaces are equipped with rapid antigen test kits to enable early diagnosis in the event of illness within the company.

We recommend our business partners to hold remote meetings using online meeting tools whenever possible. If it is unavoidable to hold a face-to-face meeting, we ask that you maintain a "social distance" and follow our company’s anti-COVID19 protocol (limit the number of participants, ensure that the meeting room is properly ventilated with outside air, measure the temperature, wear a mask, etc.).

Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation.

To all our Customers, Partners and Suppliers

Based on the nationwide situation of the spread of infection, the knowledge of experts, and the voices of local governments and medical professionals, the government of Japan has issued a nationwide declaration of a state of emergency, taking a major decision to work together to bring the situation under control as soon as possible.

As Keidanren Chairman’s commented, under the nationwide declaration of a state of emergency, Japan must make every effort to maintain the health care delivery system and social functions, as well as to maintain employment and business continuity, while placing the highest priority on protecting the lives and livelihoods of the people.

In order to curb the spread of the infection, each and every citizen, company and organization of the country must share a sense of crisis and work together as one. Advanet is taking active part in this collective effort.

At Advanet, an operational plan is effective from April 20, 2020, to allow the company being compliant with health and safety new requirements. By doing so, notwithstanding some activities will be performed in teleworking modality and the introduction of personnel’s shifts in some departments, Advanet remains fully operational.

As we have said from day one of this crisis, paramount for us is and will always remain health: first and foremost, the physical and psychological health of all us; then the health of our business, with its precious customers, partners and suppliers. The plan goes in this direction, strengthening measures to allow a safer environment at our premises and efficient conditions when engaging in teleworking activities thus ensuring our operativity.

The plan is meant to be in place till May 6, 2020; as things change by the hour, it may be adjusted anytime needed. Your understanding and cooperation are very much appreciated.

Advanet, together with its Partners and Suppliers, is committed to keep supporting our key Japanese customers, safeguarding Japan’s society and contributing to the wellbeing of our collective future. Let’s work together to defeat this gloomy period!

With many thanks

Message from the President

April 1, 2020

We are living unprecedent times. The COVID 19 pandemic is shaking the foundations of our nations, putting under enormous stress our health care systems and causing deaths by tens of thousands in so many countries. One after the other, almost every nation of the world is weeping as relatives, friends and colleagues have passed away. This is very sad, and our warmest thoughts go to each and every person affected.

Advanet started to prepare for an unprecedented situation as a pandemic in Japan too would be. We shared internally the message, from day one of this crisis, that paramount for everyone is health. First and foremost, the physical and psychological health of all us; then the health of the business, with its precious customers, partners and suppliers. In this respect, I would like to share with all you a few updates about the actions so far taken, to help you understand how we are planning for the immediate and medium term.

An internal Special Task Force (C19STF) comprising all company functions, appointed to deal with COVID 19 pandemic and its impacts on our activities, has been in place at Advanet for more than three weeks. The C19STF gathers daily to discuss the actions to be taken and review the outcomes of those already implemented. Among these, some of the most relevant are:

  • Enhanced health precautions enforcement to all our employees and visitors to our premises
  • Teleworking for some functions
  • Check the health of all employees and visitors to the company (temperature check and denial of entry if the temperature exceeds 37.5°C)
  • Strengthened contingency plan, stabilization of the supply chain after stress testing
  • Prioritized channel of communication with our Customers, Partners and Suppliers.

Let me underline that all these measures have been decided by the C19STF, on top of implementing what Japan’s public authorities have recommended to all companies.

The C19STF has also carefully assessed the opportunity of moving other company functions to a teleworking modality. Our plans are continuously reviewed as the situation changes and technical preparations are planned and implemented to support any decisions made. The outcome has been that, as long as safety and security conditions are ensured for all our employees, we must maintain the functioning of our company by having a presence at the Company. This means that for the time being we will be able to keep serving our Customers and supporting their business’ in conjunction with our Partners and Suppliers.

Let me underline once again that this is an unprecedented situation. No company has ever been exposed to such threat. We need to be prepared for something which is new to all. Since our employee’s health is paramount, changes may have to be made in the light of any new information received in the coming days/weeks: your understanding and support are very much needed.

Advanet, together with its Partners and Suppliers, is committed to keep supporting our key Japanese customers, safeguarding Japan’s society and contributing to the wellbeing of our collective future. Let’s work together to defeat this gloomy period!
